AIGGS developed AIGeMarine for the AIG companies as a flexible object-oriented Java application, designed to integrate with Web facilities provided by business partners such as Banks, Logistics Companies, Freight Forwarders, Shipping Lines and Exchanges. Using XML to communicate with a partner’s site, the application helps bring efficiencies to the trade process by providing insurance coverage and insurance declaration facilities to buyers and sellers of products worldwide.

The AIGeMarine application also integrates with other processes and retrieves appropriate data to enable immediate Marine Cargo insurance coverage to be purchased or ship-ments recorded against pre-arranged insurance cover. Additional facilities, including claims reporting and transaction monitoring, enhance the application and an integrated management tool provides “in house” users the facility to manage clients, business partners’ details and transactions as well as extensive reports.
