Social Visit 2007 at Yayasan Sunbeams Home

Kuala Lumpur - December 15th, 2007 marked a remarkable and meaningful day for AIG Software International (AIGGS) as they paid a visit to Yayasan Sunbeams Home - a home for displaced, misplaced, abused and neglected children of single-parents. The purpose of this visit is to raise funds for them and at the same time, to share our love to those little angels.

Yayasan Sunbeams Home has more than 100 multi-racial children under their care. These children are housed in two back-to-back double-storey house with one for the girls and the other for the boys. The children ranges from 2 to the oldest at 22 years old. All these children are looked after by the founder, Pastor Alvin Tan and his wife, Pastor Lucy with 26 others who make up the staff and some volunteers who come by to oversee the children's studies.

In the beginning, we had an ice breaking activity with the children by asking some simple questions. The children were astonished by Santa Claus and two guitarists singing carols walking towards them from outside the home. Whilst singing the Carols, Santa Claus gave out candies to all the children with the help of Santa's helpers. Games and art activities followed thereafter and we could feel the excitement and happiness of the children from the bottom of our hearts. Although the environment was kind of noisy and chaotic, we managed to keep the situation under control with relief and joy!

A sum of RM11,000, contributed by the staff of AIG Software International (AIGGS), AIG Software International (AIGGS) and Puan Sri Irene Lee were presented to Mr. Paul and Ms. Ruth Punita, management committee members of Yayasan Sunbeams Home. The Home and the children appreciated our efforts.

The trip has definitely been a fruitful and memorable journey for all. It has in many ways taught us to be always appreciative of what we have as we continue to lend a hand to the unfortunate and underprivileged.
